The First Chinese People and the First Dynasty
A long, long time ago, the story of China began. We are often called the “Descendants of Yan and Huang”, who were two very important ancient leaders.
One of the first great heroes was Yu the Great. There was a huge flood, and he worked very hard to control the water and save everyone. Because of his bravery and wisdom, he helped establish the Xia Dynasty, which is known as the very first dynasty in Chinese history!

Think of a dynasty as a family that rules a country for a very long time. The father might be the king or emperor, and then his son becomes the next ruler, and then his grandson, and so on.
