Meet Your Detective Kit: The 8 Super Question Words
Each question word is a special tool for finding a different kind of clue. Let's learn how to use each one!
1. Who: The People Detective
Use Who when you want to ask about a person or people. It helps you find out the 'person' clue!
Examples:
- Who is your teacher?
- Who is playing on the slide?
- Who ate the last cookie?

2. What: The Thing or Action Detective
Use What when you want to ask about a thing, an object, or an action (something someone is doing).
Examples:
- What is in your pencil case? (Thing)
- What is your name? (Information)
- What are you doing? (Action)
- What is the time? (Time)

3. Where: The Place Detective
Use Where when you want to ask about a place or a position. It helps you find out the 'location' clue!
Examples:

Examples of asking 'in what way':
- How do you come to school? ... I come by bus.

- How many pencils do you have? (to ask about quantity you can count)
- How much is the robot? (to ask about price or quantity you can't count, like water)

Who vs. What
Remember, Who is for people, and What is for things or animals.
- Who is that boy? (Correct!)

Where vs. When
Remember, Where is for a place, and When is for a time.
- Where is the party? (At school - Place)
- When is the party? (On Saturday - Time)
